We target to develop a robot to assist building inspection duty. The robot shall be able to inspect lift cabin conditions, measure indoor air quality, detect water leakage, and report any faulty equipment along its patrol route.
A solution shall be proposed to enable the communication between the lift and robot, so the robot can ride the lift and perform inspection on different floors autonomously. The data exchange between the robot and the lift shall be based on open communication protocol.
The robot shall collect and send the data to a cloud platform via 5G wireless network. The cloud platform shall be used to store, analyze and display the conditions of different building facilities. The collected data shall also be integrated to the existing building information model.
Expected Outcome
Design, supply and implement a building inspection robot with 5G technology. The robot shall be based on open-source operating system and software development kit shall be provided. The robot shall also support installation and interfacing of third-party sensors.
Design, supply and install sensors on the robot for achieving different building inspection duties, including but not limited to lift cabin inspection, indoor air quality measurement, water leakage detection, and faulty equipment identification.
Design, supply and implement a universal communication interface between the lift and the robot.
Design and provide a cloud platform for collecting, storing, analyzing and displaying the collected data with interoperability with building information model.
