Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
Most robots do not have the self exploring function, it relies an operator to manually control the robot on site to scan the environment for mapping. Sometimes in an inaccessible areas, the operator should remain in a safe location and robot / drone can go inside direct.
Expected Outcome
The device should be
compact, lightweight and easy to carry for handheld 3D data mapping, direct mount on robot, hang on drone or vehicle for autonomous mapping.
IP65 weather sealed allow mapping of extreme environments with consideration of dusts, rain, extreme temperatures from -10 to 45°C or humidity.
Level 3 conditional automation features enables self exploring and mapping in inaccessible areas beyond line of sight and communication range without operator manual control / GPS.
Level 3 conditional automation features enables have “environmental detection” capabilities and can make informed decisions for themselves.
SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) based system.
Expected Trial Duration
9-month
