Summary and Challenges
  • In construction sites especially for tunnel tubes, it may be possible that some un-intended people enter the tunnel tube, resulting in safety concern. Usually, the tunnel tubes are considered as confined space. Without notification that people enter the tunnel tube, people will face potential risk, raising from hazards of the confined space of tunnel tubes.
Expected Outcome
  • With use of system for Human Intrusion Detectors, human intrusion to tunnel tube is identified, alerting the site supervisor for site attendance and disallowing human intrusion earlier.
  • Benefits :
    • Ensure the IN/OUT attendance record with use of Human Intrusion Detectors
    • Avoid risk of Human intrusion, resulting in safety hazards identified in confined space
    • Ensure no human intrusion / no construction works to re-open tunnel tube when tunnel tube changes from one-tube two-way operation to two-tube two-way operation for existing tunnels
