Summary and Challenges
Footbridge lifts are located along roadside, dusts and grease are often found on the glass surfaces of the lift tower and lift car. Cleansing work on the external glass surfaces of the lift tower can be carried out by cleansing workers with high pressure water jet and working platforms. While water jet is not suitable for cleansing the internal glass surfaces of lift tower and external glass surfaces of lift car, the workers are required to enter the lift shaft to clean the glass surfaces with cloth which will affect the public usage of footbridge lifts.
We hope to explore the use of cleansing robot to carry out the cleansing work for the internal and external glass surfaces of the lift tower and lift car which can operate automatically on timer and will not affect the lift usage dramatically. Preferably the robot can map the route with its data received and the cleansing robot can be activated remotely.
Expected Outcome
We expect the cleansing robot can provide an efficient cleansing effect to the footbridge lifts, not only reduce the heavy burden of cleansing works by workers, but also reduce the downtime caused by cleansing work and minimize the affection to the public.
Expected Trial Duration
12-month
