Summary and Challenges
This project aims to explore the use of AI-based Indoor Positioning based on WiFi fingerprinting. The proposed solution shall leverage existing Wi-Fi access point and sensors, with AI algorithm to improve positioning accuracy.
Expected Outcome
This project aims to achieve the following objectives:
To provide a Web-based visualized positioning and management platform for managing the Point of Interest details
To support Auto-positioning and shortest path wayfindings by providing point-to-point seamless navigation between Indoor-to-Outdoor and Floor-to-floor
To digitalize the indoor map and enable the indoor positioning services based on Wi-Fi-fingerprinting technology by scanning current Wi-Fi setup, leveraging existing Wi-Fi signal of the venue for the indoor positioning, with no additional hardware installation
To display panoramic perspective of an indoor and outdoor space with fast implementation of indoor mapping
To make use of machine learning algorithm for improve positioning accuracy by analyzing the positioning data and sensors fusion data. The accuracy of indoor positioning is expected to be within average 3-5 meters with floor detection
To provide data analytics for overall usage and counting purpose, such as number of users used the Apps, Popular Exhits of most being clicked, etc.
To support displaying digital indoor map via Web and mobile and to provide SDK for further development in Mobile Apps
