Summary and Challenges
  • The traditional wall clocks may drift and show inaccurate time after running for a period and manual clock tuning is required. The overall idea of this project is to develop IoT-based analog clocks with its management system.
  • The clock shall synchronize the time regularly via LoRaWAN and report its battery level to server. Users shall be able to access a web platform for monitoring the clock status, including the last time of synchronization and battery level.
Expected Outcome
  • To develop and manufacture IoT-based analog clocks which are powered by AA batteries and wall mountable.
  • To automatically tune the clock with the use of LoRaWAN (the microcontroller for synchronization shall be configured in sleep mode after each time synchronization).
  • To develop a web platform with login function for showing the status of connected IoT clocks, including the last time of synchronization and battery level.
