This project aims to develop a smart patrol & meter-reading robot for Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works.
The robot shall carry out patrol function in about 1.5km-long patrol route automatically and transmit the real time image to the control centre.
The robot shall be able to read the various types of metres in the sewage treatment work, recognize the values accurately and record in an excel file.
Expected Outcome
The smart patrol & meter-reading robot needs to work in outdoor condition pavement roads, thus it shall be weather-proof design and able to stop or avoid when encounters obstacles. The robot will be deployed in night time patrol, therefore, it shall be able to travel the route automatically and transmit the real time image clearly even under dark environment.
There are various types of meters and gauge in the plant, the robot shall be able to detect and recognize the reading accurately (95% above), the system should contain a reporting system to provide the record and pictures of meters. The robot shall able to complete the patrol and meter-reading automatically and return to its charging station within 1.5 hours.
