Use of Inno-solution to Detect, Monitor and/or Alert the Vehicle Speed at Spiral Driveways (REF: W-0528)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
Similar to multiple-storey car park buildings, spiral driveways in EMSD Headquarters were having sharp deviations and were steeply declined.
Despite speed limit signs of 10 km/h has been established for all roads in the premises, in view of vehicles accelerate naturally in these driveways, if there were insufficient brake applied by the driver, speeding occurs unconsciously leading to hazards.
Conventional speeding detection devices such as laser guns could accurately measure the speed of vehicles and could not be adopted in spiral driveways.
The objective of this project is to adopt inno-solutions for accurately detecting the speed of all vehicles driving at spiral driveways in the EMSD HQs. Once speeding of vehicle is detected, the solution should be able to promptly alert to drivers to increase braking force.
Expected Outcome
To provide a vehicle’s speed detection system with the following functions:
Vehicle identification
Vehicle’s speed detection
Alerting system (e.g. display monitor, sound alert, etc.)
Remote monitoring and visualization
Expected Trial Duration
12-month
