I&T Wish Fan Filter Cleaning System at Public Transport Interchange (PTI)
(REF: W-0544)
Matched I&T Solution
Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
  • Fresh air fans are typically situated at elevated positions within Public Transport Interchanges (PTIs). The accumulation of dust and grease on the fan filters affect the performance of these fans, necessitating regular filter cleaning. Traditionally, workers use work platforms to extract the filters for cleaning, followed by high-pressure water jet flushing. However, the need for road closures during these cleaning activities disrupts public access.
Expected Outcome
  • We anticipate the development of a smart and innovative method that ensures a safe and efficient approach to cleaning fresh air fan filters, yielding the following outcomes:
    • Elimination of fall hazards associated with working at heights.
    • Reduction in labor requirements. - Reduce the difficulties of finding water sources.
    • Minimization of public inconvenience caused by road closures.
    • Provision of cleaner air through increased fan filter cleaning frequency.
Expected Trial Duration 12-month
