Summary and Challenges
  • Some of the current challenges includes the following:
    • Reducing electricity costs and minimizing emissions.
    • Prolonging lifespan of the drainage pumps by eliminating unnecessary pump operations.
    • Spread out the startups of pumps ahead of peaks in flow to reduce surge in electricity demand.
    • Minimizing risks of overflow.
Expected Outcome
  • The prototype of artificial intelligent system shall include the following features:
    • Prediction of sewage flow rate of MPS1 and MPS2 for the whole DSD Pumping System.
    • An AI-driven optimization system for pump control, pump scheduling, energy management and reduction in overall energy consumption.
    • Providing predictive strategies and reporting capabilities to monitor the performance of the optimized pumping operation.
    • Integration with the existing infrastructure, pump control systems and data exchange protocols.
    • A report with 2-days prediction graph with a 1-day comparison graph (prediction vs actual).
    • Sample comparison graph is attached.
