Summary and Challenges
  • Developing a Mobile app that uses voice recording and camera to create, schedule and manage reminders automatically. The app analyses user inputs (photos and audio) to generate reminders, e.g.
    1. medicine photo : 4-hour medication reminders with per-medication quantities;
    2. follow-up slip : consultation reminder;
    3. public notice photo : maintenance reminder. 
  • Challenges: ensure reliable image/audio recognition, simple Graphic User Interface (GUI) for elderly users, secure calendar sharing with carers, and robust cloud processing with low latency.
Expected Outcome
  • A unified reminders system that auto-creates reminders from photos and voice, displays all reminders in a Popular Calendar-style view, allows voice editing/updates, and enables carers to subscribe and modify the user’s calendar for shared monitoring.
