Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
Currently, routine inspections are required to identify water leakage or seepage in the wet zone above the APM tunnel. This process is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and may not detect initial or intermittent leakage in a timely manner. Conventional inspection relies heavily on visual observation, which can be affected by lighting, humidity, and accessibility limitations.
The main challenge is to design and implement an automated, reliable sensor-based monitoring system that can operate under a humid and high-temperature environment, provide continuous data transmission, and trigger early warnings when abnormal water leakage and ponding are detected.
Expected Outcome
The proposed system will utilize moisture, humidity, and water presence sensors integrated with IoT communication for real-time monitoring. Data will be visualized in the central E&M monitoring platform, enabling early detection of potential leakage and facilitating preventive maintenance actions.
It is expected to reduce manual inspection frequency, enhance reliability of tunnel protection, and improve maintenance efficiency.
