Summary and Challenges

This projects aims to explore the use of new-version electronic sensors that are equipped with automatic cleansing function on sewage treatment systems. The cleansing units should be able to clean the surface of the sensor with intelligent control that can be set for different environments for effective cleansing.

Various types of sensors (such as TSS/MLSS sensor, DO sensor and PH sensor) would be tested on-site and reviewed for their efficiency.

The use of new sensors with automatic cleansing function would minimise manpower used in manual cleansing and the associated risks during the cleansing procedure. It would also improve the reading accuracy of the sensors, hence smoothening the daily operation of the sewage treatment systems.
