Summary and Challenges
  • The project aims to seek an Asset Management System of managing the fire-fighting tools and rescue equipment on the fire appliance.
  • The solution shall make use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G connectivity to achieve an efficient and real time management of the tools and equipment on a fire appliance.
  • The solution shall be suitable to install on the fire appliance and able to detect over one hundred tools and equipment precisely, that are stacked together.
  • An asset monitoring system shall be provided for users to check the real-time status on the fire appliance. The data shall be transmitted and stored in the backend server for records and future analysis.
Expected Outcome
  • To provide a RFID-enabled detection system for counting, recording and managing the fire-fighting tools and rescue equipment automatically on a fire appliance.
  • The solution shall include :
    1. Both fixed RFID scanner with antenna on a fire appliance and portable handheld RIFD reader
    2. Different shapes/types of RFID tags with required standard on the high resistance to water, heat, flame and high temperature
    3. A front-end display (or integrate with existing display monitor) and backend asset management system
    4. 5G connectivity
