Trial Project
Summary and Challenges
We target to develop a standalone device for inspecting all landing doors of a lift continuously during normal operation.
The device shall measure the operation speed, collect the operation noise and capture the image of the landing doors when the lift car is approaching a landing floor with decelerating speed.
The device shall be activated when the lift is approaching to the designated floor before arrival in order to trigger the inspection procedure.
The device shall be acknowledged its current floor when the lift door opens.
Live view of the image capturing device shall also be enabled for visual check of the alignment of the device.
The collected data shall be transferred to a cloud platform via 5G network for fault analysis. Artificial intelligence algorithms shall be developed to identify different behaviors of the lift landing doors, e.g. noise from operation, frequency of door openings, door component abnormalities, alignment of doors, etc.
Health index of landing doors shall be shown on a web-based dashboard. Alarms and alerts shall also be generated by the AI algorithms when abnormalities are detected.
Expected Outcome
Design, supply and implement an inspection device for collecting the conditions of all landing doors in a lift, including the opening / closing speed, operation noise and door alignment. The device shall record the landing floor of the lift and manage the data collection process.
Design and provide a cloud platform for collecting and storing the landing door data and for displaying the conditions of different landing doors in a lift. A web-based dashboard shall also be designed for reviewing the door conditions by different parties.
Develop artificial intelligence algorithms to analyze the collected data and to identify potential faults, including but not limited to door misalignment, abnormalities of door driving components, door jammed by external objects, etc.
Expected Trial Duration
6-month
