Trial Project |
|
Summary and Challenges |
- Motivation to use carbon neutralize materials to form ultra-light non-structural green walls to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint.
- To use innovative and eco-friendly carbon neutralize ultra-light panels to build three non-structural green walls with a height of 7.5 meters in a project. The walls should withstand at least two hours of fire protection and should be free of VOC and formaldehyde to provide a greener and healthier working environment.
- Challenges :
- Installation of the wall should be simple and fast, even for a high wall at a height of 7.5 meters.
- It is important that the walls have the modular approach and materials should be pre-fabricated in the factory to minimize wastage at the work site.
- All walls built with ultra-light panels should be light and yet strong enough to support the hanging of objects, including cabinets.
- Any object can be hung anywhere without affecting the structure.
|
Expected Outcome |
- System Installation of ultra-light modular panels in the thickness of about 150mm to build three sets of walls to the height of 7.5m from the ground for a total area of at least 200 m2 in the premises.
- The modular wall system deploys a much faster, less labor-intensive wall-building method. The process is far more environmentally friendly as it creates less waste and eliminates work site pollution when compared with construction method involving wet trade.
- Materials of ultra-light panels are safer and far more eco-friendly than traditional partition materials.
- Materials of ultra-light panels should be fire rated for at least 2-hour, and with acoustic insulation performance at or above 42 dB.
- Its structural performance including stiffness, surface damage, impact & structural damage, and lightweight & heavyweight anchorage, will be measured according to internal standards.
